| The currency of Thailand is the Baht. There are plenty of cash machines on Samui. Travellers cheques are easily changed at the local Banks and exchange offices. The best rate of exchange is given for sterling travellers cheques. There are exchange bureaux in Bangkok airport so it is not normally necessary to bring any baht with you. |
| There is a currency convertor on XE.com Personal Currency Assistant |
| Most people with a European or USA passport do not need a visa to enter Thailand as a visitor for a short holiday period. |

As you can see here, you could do worse than just laze around the resort and relax. But if you want something more active to do, here are a few ideas. |
Nightlife![]() |
If the West Coast becomes a bit sedate for you, visit Chaweng or Lamai. We can arrange a taxi, bike, car hire, even a chauffer for the evening. There are many bars and clubs of all kinds, from Traditional Thai dancing to Disco. |
Island Hopping![]() |
Good ferry links make exploring the neighbouring islands easy and inexpensive. |
Spas![]() |
Meditation, cleansing, or pampering - there are world class spas on Samui with a variety of treatment packages to choose from. We also offer Thai and Oil massages by our experienced masseuse at our beachfront sala or in your room. We have a spa treatment room where you can have a facial, herbal steam, aloe vera wrap and other treatments. We can also arrange for you to go to the local beauty salon. |
Water Sports![]() |
Kayaking, swimming, snorkelling, diving, fishing, etc. are all available on and around the island. There are many diving schools on Samui and organised activities of any kind on (and in) the water. Near by Koh Tao is very good for world class diving. Tell us what you want to do and we will help you to choose the right trip, from an organised trip to hiring your own boat. |
Sports![]() |
Golf to Bunjee jumping. There is the beautiful Santiburi golf course at Maenam. Rock climbing, gliding around the tree canopies, paintballing, cycling, atv driving, whatever takes your fancy. |
Marine Park![]() |
Ang Thong National Park, a group of beautiful uninhabited islands
off the coast of Samui, is the original setting for the famous book 'The
Beach'. Take a day trip which includes kayakking or snorkelling, visit
the islands and climb to the top for spectacular views. There are many other nearby islands you can get to by ferry from Koh Samui |
Safari & Trecking![]() |
You can go on an elephant ride to one of the beautiful water falls, or a jeep trek around the centre of the island, lots to choose from with the island safari companies. |
Cookery Lessons![]() |
At one of the many Thai cookery schools, individual lessons or classes are available. If there is something you like on the Big John Seafood menu we can arrange for our chef to demonstrate it for you. |
Sightseeing![]() |
Hire a car or motorbike and tour the island. There are many beautiful views like this one and interesting things to do and see. Visit our Big Buddah statute, the butterfly garden, the waterfalls etc. If you want total relaxation hire a chauffer to drive you. The east side of the island is much busier, visit Chaweng and Lamai for more shopping and entertainment. |
Shopping![]() |
Nathon is very close and good for anything from souvenirs to soya beans, go to the colourful markets and haggle in the shops. |
| Just a few ideas! Transport is no problem, getting out and about is easy. Samui has good links to neighbouring islands and the mainland. There is plenty to do and see. Many people come for a day or two thinking that is enough time on a small island. They usually stay for a couple of weeks or come back later. | |
